Adding Content to Lessons

Lessons in TF Learn can contain content (text, images, audio or videos or combination of these) and questions for quizzes. To add content, you can either use Joomla articles or TF learn pages or both.

Pages

To create a new page, click on "New". To edit an existing Page, click on the title from the list of Pages.

Form Fields

Title: This is the title or name of the page.

Alias: The Alias will be used as part of the URL. Normally, you can leave this blank and Joomla will fill in a default value Title in lower case and with dashes instead of spaces.

1. Page Tab

Description: This is the content or learning material for the page. Here, you can add text, images, links or videos using Joomla! editor. You can also extend its functionality by using custom field.

Lesson: Select the lesson for the page.

Reference: You can add any reference number or text. This can be used for better organization of the pages or for ordering.

2. How to Add Content to Lessons?

There are three ways to add content. You can any one or all the three at a time.

1. Select the lesson while editing the page.

2. From the dashboard, navigate to the lessons and edit (or add new) the lesson. Under the content tab, enable Pages. Add the Id of page. This way, you can reuse the pages in multiple lessons.

3. Joomla Articles: While editing the lesson, enable Joomla Articles under the Content Tab. Add the Id of the Joomla article.

  • Content ID: Enter the record ID for the Joomla article or TF Learn Page.
  • Show Title: Toggle switch to show or hide the title of the article.
  • Title: Enter the alternative title to use, instead of the default title.

3. Configuration Options

Component Options > Page

These settings determine how lesson pages are displayed at the frontend.

Order Column/Direction: Select the column and direction for ordering of the pages in a lesson.

Prepare Content: Toggle switch to run content plugins.

Dashboard Button: Toggle switch to display button for students to navigate to the course dashboard or learning path.

Lesson Title: Toggle switch to show or hide the lesson title.

Navigation: Toggle switch to show or hide the lesson navigation.

Styles: Add CSS classes to style the layout of the page.
